Crafting the perfect drink requires more than just pouring ingredients into a glass—it takes skill and a dash of creativity.
- Mixology – Proficiency in crafting a wide range of cocktails, from classic favorites to creative and innovative concoctions.
- Customer Service – Ability to provide exceptional service with a friendly and outgoing attitude, ensuring guests feel welcome and attended to.
- Attention to Detail – Meticulousness in preparing drinks accurately and presenting them beautifully, paying attention to garnishes and glassware.
- Communication – Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, take orders, and work collaboratively with the rest of the event staff.
- Time Management – Ability to handle multiple drink orders simultaneously while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Problem-Solving – Quick thinking and adaptability to resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during the event.
- Knowledge of Alcoholic Beverages – Familiarity with different types of liquors, wines, and beers, as well as their flavour profiles and proper serving techniques.
Responsibilities
As a bartender, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to guest preferences and event specifications.
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking drink orders and providing recommendations when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies, cleaning glassware, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Adhere to all relevant alcohol service laws and regulations, ensuring responsible serving practices.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and identify intoxicated guests, taking appropriate action to prevent overconsumption.
- Collaborate with other event staff, including servers and event coordinators, to ensure smooth operation and exceptional guest experiences.
Qualifications
Our ideal bartender comes equipped with the perfect blend of qualifications, including:
- High school diploma
- Additional education, experience, training, and certificates are an advantage
- Strong knowledge of mixology techniques and cocktail recipes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude toward customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (e.g., cases of liquor or kegs)
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism
